Mark Strong (Sherlock Holmes, upcoming Kick-Ass and Robin Hood) talked to USA Weekend about playing Sinestro in Warner Bros. Pictures' Green Lantern.

"For anybody who's familiar with the Green Lantern and the origin story, the film closely follows the early comics," Strong said. "Sinestro starts out as Hal Jordan's mentor, slightly suspicious and not sure of him because obviously Hal is the first human being who's made into a Green Lantern. He's certainly very strict and certainly unsure of the wisdom of Hal becoming a Green Lantern."

Strong added that "[Sinestro] is a military guy but isn't immediately bad. It's the kind of person he is that lends himself to becoming bad over the course of the comics being written, but initially he's quite a heroic figure."

The actor said that the costume and other aspects of the character closely follow the character's early days. "That widow's peak and thin mustache was for some reason originally based on David Niven, and Hal Jordan was based on Errol Flynn," said Strong, who recently got fitted for special Sinestro contact lenses.

"In the '30s and '40s, they shared an apartment together in Hollywood when they were making movies and they were great friends. Obviously at the time, whoever was doing the original comics must have looked at them as guys doing very well in the film industry, and based those characters on them. So I would like to do justice to the Sinestro that was conceived for the comic books."

Opening in 3D and 2D theaters on June 17, the Martin Campbell-directed comic book adaptation stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Tim Robbins, Strong, Taika Waititi, Temuera Morrison, Angela Bassett and Jay O. Sanders.

au choix dans : Tucker, Glory, JFK, Daylight, Le Collectionneur, Le Masque de l'Araignée, Half Nelson, Jumper, Les Noces rebelles...

Il est bizarre à premiére vue le vaisseau d'Abin Sur. Et toujours pas de photo du costume de Jordan ? Même vu de trés loin, tout flou, et tout et tout ?! ^^

Yes c un fake (plutot pas mal je trouve) les costumes seront plus dans ce genre la, puisque ils sont tiré de vrais concepts arts (sauf celui de Hal je crois) que je trouve encore meilleurs.

c'est vrai que ça peu donner un bon truc sur grand écran et donner un petit coup d'air frais au super héro

Le costume de Hal vient du jeu video DC Universe vs Mortal Combat dans les deux fakes que Tay' a posté (grosse préférence pour le premier en ce qui me concerne). Et pour le coup je le trouve un peu lisse par rapport à l'orientation que les premiers concept arts du film laisse supposer.

Et ben profitez bien de ces fake Green lantern n'aura pas de costume. Enfin si mais on est pas pret de le voir, il sera presque completement en Cgi!

Pourquoi pas, aprés tout son costume vient de l'anneau est d'origine extraterrestre, et cela pourrait aussi lui donner une qualité autre que les myriade de costume pour super héros que l'on connait.

Je sais pas pourquoi mais ça me fait peur ça...

parce que tu as une idée en tete préconçue? non ca veut pas dire que ce sera bien, mais apriori les échos sont bons.

je me serais attendu a une réac sur le non costume de Hal?

Pour un costume entièrement en CGI c'est le pied. Difficile à présent d'imaginer ce à quoi ça va ressembler, et par la même occasion ça peut remettre en doute les artwork qui ont circulé pour les autres persos. Plus le temps passe et plus ce film gagne en potentiel (tout en sachant qu'il en avait déjà énormément à la base) !

Mais je commence à flipper pour la grosse tête atrophié. lol Tant que j'aurais pas vu la chose, je resterais sceptique. ^^
