spoilers. Adore le film. Il pense que le film corrige pas mal le tir sur Man of Steel.

I've seen it guys! Ask questions away but no spoilers!
Impressions:
- This is a far far better movie than MoS in every conceivable way...as a movie. As a movie: characters, story, themes, ideas etc everything Terrio was talking about in his WSJ are all there if you're looking for it and all cohesively executed in a satisfactory manner. It's not as campy as I wanted but it is far less dark/joyless as some would be led to be believed. "Overwrought" is how I would describe it. Like the theatrical cut of Fellowship of the Ring. There is humor, far more than I was expecting but it felt like the wit from Terrio's ARGO not necessarily the comedy of most other comic films. You can feel which lines were Terrio's and probably guesstimate which were Snyder/Goyer. The key is that structurally the movie is sound and it has the fundamentals of story and character at functional levels and that's really what was needed.
- As a DC adaptation: the arguing will not stop. That being said in some ways this is the Superman that the MoS marketing promised and not what that movie delivered BUT there are certain choices (which are organic to the character and story btw) that I think will still irritate many fans albeit much less than MoS. Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman is a revelation, I can't believe there was any doubt about this.
Spoiler:
Is he a killer? It's hard to say, they do the Arkham game thing where we know Batman has a no kill rule (it's mentioned)
but the action and violence is "action movie rules" so I guess we're meant to suspend our disbelief at some points which is easy to do this time because Snyder goes full Comic Book Fantasy world in this. Gal Gadot is great as Wonder Woman, and she definitely has more of an integral plot role in BvS than say Black Widow in Iron Man 2, that being said I wouldn't say she's the 3rd lead or anything. She definitely stole every scene she was in and she is absolutely true to the WW of the Rucka and Simone eras (Snyder and Fong wisely avoid cheesecake shots too). Honestly...the Knightmare sequences were my least favorite parts of the movie, they felt intrusive even though they tied in organically the the rest of the movie as a whole, I don't think they were necessary. I like this Lex Luthor, Eisenberg's best performance since THE DOUBLE but I have a feeling I'll be in the minority on that one...he's not quite how I imagine comics fans would like.
Spoiler:
The Flash cameo is the only one that felt organic, the others I could have done without.
Also, while Superman may have improved a bit, don't go into this movie expecting to finally like the Kents. Lois and WW are MVP though, I think fans of them should be very happy. Doomsday? Looks better than the trailers but still not...quite finished. The ending while earned this time will still be a talking point but I can say I'm very much looking forward to JL and the future solo movies.
I would like to say more but I'm not sure how much I SHOULD say since for all intents and purposes I wasn't supposed to see this movie until tonight. All I can say is that I stand by my opinion that Man of Steel is a D- minus grade movie. I think BvS is a solid B-/B and I think that's what the DCEU needs right now.

Last night, I had the opportunity go to the NYC premiere of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and thought some would appreciate some early feedback for the movie. I saw another review on here and would be happy to offer another perspective. Proof: http://www.imgur.com/a/3f8da The Good Despite serious concerns going in, I'd say that the most impressive success of the movie was the believability in the action between Batman and Superman. I fully expected to roll my eyes, saying "Oh come on...how can he stand up against a GOD?!" but they nailed it. As we know from the trailer, they actually addressed the ridiculous amount of carnage that inevitably resulted from the first movie. Ben Affleck definitely quashed any concerns we may have had for ability to play the Dark Knight...see below for the film's shortcomings in Bruce Wayne, however... Wonder Woman was a bad ass and got me excited to see her in action down the road (not so great out of superhero mode, though) They took a huge risk in the final act that many other superhero movies would be too afraid to attempt and it definitely was effective (without giving too much away) Get hyped for Justice League and future DC properties We got to see some awesome Bat gadgets (GRAPPLING HOOK!!) The fight sequences were definitely in the better half of all comic book movies as of late Alfred was awesome. I love Jeremy Irons' completely different portrayal from previous versions of the character The Bad They completely ignored the Bruce Wayne half of Batman's character. You cast Ben Affleck, who screams billionaire playboy persona, and don't let him do his thing?! Despite a relatively straightforward plot, it seemed a bit all over the place at times. I think it was in need of editing... They didn't waste our time with Batman's backstory outside of a quick montage, thankfully. However, it was a bit heavy-handed with the "he's tormented by his past" references. This specifically was annoying in the final battle. Amy Adams' boobs just out of frame in several shots Verdict As a follow-up to a (in my opinion) lackluster Man of Steel, it was definitely an improvement. As a comparison to similar Batman properties (Burton/Nolan), it falls short. It's not going to go down as one of the best superhero movies ever, but it's definitely worth a watch. It seems to fall victim to the world-building "get ready for the next one" trait that befalls other superhero franchises towards the end, but only slightly. It's a lot of fun and packed with references that will make comic book fans beam. To draw a comparison that many others inevitably will, if you liked Man of Steel, you will love Batman v Superman; if you didn't, you will at least enjoy yourself.

Just to add some perspective, the Reddit reviewer we're currently talking about listed off other scores he gave for other CBMs:
Winter Soldier: 7/10 Guardians: 8/10 DOFP: 8/10 Deadpool: 6/10 (Blasphemy! I know...it was hilarious, but I wanted more) Age of Ultron: 5/10
He says he's harsh on movies and it looks like he means it. That said the mixed/good-ish reviews I've seen all seem to have similar complaints regarding issue with the story. Like pacing, shifts in tone, that sort of thing. I think critics will be harsh on the movie. So it's close to Winter Soldier. That's good. I preferred that to Guardians, though I liked both. Ultron and Deadpool are treated harshly.
So 6.5 is pretty solid
