From creative genius Tim Burton comes Frankenweenie, a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life-with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor's fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new "leash on life" can be monstrous. A stop-motion animated film, Frankenweenie will be filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D, which will elevate the classic style to a whole new experience. -- (C) Disney
Est-ce qu'il est encore raisonnable d'espérer ? Peut-être sur certains points apparemment:

There are still plenty of casually macabre gags[...] and slightly scary bits to enjoy here. It’s the best thing with Burton’s name on it in the past five years. B
A black-and-white stop-motion toon that pays loving tribute to Hollywood creature features of yesteryear, this beautifully designed canine-resurrection saga feels, somewhat fittingly, stitched together from stray narrative parts, but nonetheless evinces a level of discipline and artistic coherence missing from the director's recent live-action efforts.
Frankenweenie is a particularly safe film for Burton, but it charms thanks to sheer wide-eyed likability, and through the good will generated as Burton uses his current Disney cred to smooth out an early career bump. 7/10
